Brother Terence Santiapillai

Bro.
Terry Santiapillai was born in Sri Lanka. He had
his basic education at St. Patrick's College in Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
After high school, he left his home and lived and worked in Iran, Holland,
England and then he came to the USA. In Chicago, he worked for the Dutch
Consulate.
While he was living in Chicago, he met the Friars at St. Peter's Church in
the Loop. Inspired by the friars, he enrolled in Our Lady of Angels Seminary
in Quincy. He attended classes at Quincy College and obtained a Bachelor's
Degree in Political Science.
He was accepted by the Franciscans and sent to Franklin, Indiana, for his
novitiate. After his novitiate training, he continuted
his studies at Loyola University and at Catholic Theological Union in
Chicago. He taught social studies at Hales Franciscan High School on the
south side of Chicago. Later, he worked at St. Peter's Church where he had
first met the friars.
He obtained his Masters in Library and Information Science from Dominican
University. Now he works as Reference and Archives Librarian at Brenner
Library.
In his free time, Bro. Terry enjoys traveling, cooking and entertaining his
friends and QU students.
